Breaking Through...

Yep, Riley is finally getting teeth! I was beginning to think he was going to have a toothless grin forever but it looks like his two front teeth are finally breaking through. No actual white is showing yet, but you can see two gray spots where they are going to poke through any day. Here he is enjoying a very messy teething biscuit!

He'll be walking in no time

Ok, so he has to work on his balance a little, but I got this on camera and thought that it was pretty cool.

Officially A Crawler

He used to sort of worm his way across the room, now we can say he is really crawling...
He has been doing this for a while now but this is the first time we have been able to get a good one of him on film, he is usually more interested with playing with the video camera when I take it out then crawling.

My mom got us a Flip (a small digital video camera) and it works great for taking videos of him for the blog and it is small enough to take everywhere.

It's time to move the crib down!

My little baby is no longer a little baby anymore, he's 8 months old and is climbing and crawling on everything. Today I was putting clothes away in his room and put him in the crib to hang out until I was finished. I looked over and he had pulled himself up on the crib and was standing with the biggest grin on his face, it was the cutest thing ever. Guess it's time to move the crib down!

He is changing so much lately that I seriously need to walk around with my camera attached to me, I am so disappointed that I didn't get it on video. I will try and recreate the scene before I move the crib down and post it later if he will do it again.

Merry Christmas...and a Happy New Year!!

This year we spent Christmas in Seattle. We were lucky enough to have a beautiful white Christmas...and Riley was extremely spoiled by all. We spent Christmas Eve with Riley's Grandpa and Grandma Burdo (Mike and Melinda), Riley's Great Aunt Leslie (Melinda's sister) and Melinda's brother Brad and his beautiful family. Melinda made an amazing dinner, we had lots of good wine, great dessert and good company... what more could we ask for.

We then spent Christmas day at Grandma and Grandpa Brown's house where Riley (and us) were even more spoiled. Riley had a ton of fun playing with his new toys and was dancing, talking and laughing the whole day.

We also had a lovely dinner at Maggiano's with Great Grandma and Grandpa Burdo and Uncle Bryan.

It would have been the perfect week except Riley got sick in the middle of the night, woke up with a fever and had to go to the ER for the first time. By the time we got there, he didn't really have a fever anymore but he they ran some tests and took x-rays since he had a cough and they wanted to make sure he didn't have pneumonia. After about 6 hours in the ER, we finally got to go home, but I ended up getting sick as well and we had to leave Seattle a little earlier then planned. It was still a great couple of days and we are looking forward to the next time we visit (or when we have visitors).

If all that wasn't enough, we still had Christmas at Grandma and Grandpa Watts house! We are truly blessed with a loving and generous family and are so lucky that Riley has such amazing relatives. (Sorry there aren't any pictures, I left my camera at home).

Here comes Santa Clause...

Riley didn't know what to think of Santa's beard at first, he kept trying to squirm out of his lap. It didn't take long though before he warmed up and was his smiley self again.
