Photography Workshop

I went to a photography workshop this past saturday in Seattle with the photographer that took Riley's newborn pictures. She is an amazing photographer as well as teacher and I learned a ton. I am shooting a senior session for one of my co-workers son and can't wait to try out what I learned. Here are a couple of pictures I took during the workshop.

Finally...he walks!

Add ImageHe has been taking steps for about a month now but I think he finally has it down.

Silly Riley...

Not sure what he was doing but he was making us laugh so hard, flopping around like a bucking bronco.

No Pictures Please

I tried to take a few pictures of Riley the other night and he was NOT having it. I ended up geting him to not look too peeved in all of two pictures, see below. The rest are the outtakes from the session which I find equally cute since he doesn't get like that too often.

And now the out takes...

Spoiled Rotten...

Enough said.

Birthday Week...

After 5 years together, he still manages to surprise me in some small way every single day, I love that about him. This week, he out did himself. It was my birthday on Thursday and instead of just one day, I got three! He took me out for dinner with my immediate family (Cameron, April and Grey and my mom and dad and Riley) to Meadow Springs for an early birthday dinner celebration on Wednesday. He gave me a beautiful pair of earnings he has been trying to find for 3 years, he saw them on someone years ago and wanted me to have them. I also love that about him, he is very observant and never gives up.

On Thursday, the day of my actual birthday he surprised me with another dinner. We went to Red Robin and this time, my extended family was there waiting to have dinner with us. Unfortunately, Riley did not feel like having dinner and was horrible the last 15 minutes and Ryan had to go sit in the car with him to try and calm him down. I came out and he was blaring opera music (which still wasn't working). As soon as we got home, we put him straight to bed and he passed out, he knows when it is his bedtime and he lets you know it!
The best night was Friday night... I had called some friends to see if they wanted to go to dinner that night and everyone agreed to meet for pizza at 7:00. We dropped Riley off at his Grandma and Granpas and headed towards the restaurant only Ryan turns early. I kept telling him he turned too early but he just smiled and said I got you! He said he wanted me all to himself for dinner and took me to my favorite restaurant in Tri-Cities, Tegaris Winery. I was worried about everyone waiting for us at the pizza place and he said that was all part of the surprise and they were all in on it so I wouldn't guess he was taking me to dinner. We had an amazing dinner, drinks and dessert and then afterwards went to sit on the patio to listen to the band that was playing. He said he would be right back and that he needed to got get his glasses from the car. When he returned, he was not alone, he had an entire entourage with him to celebrate my birthday yet again!! We all sat around the fire on the patio, listening to music and drinking wine. It was an amazing night and a complete and total surprise.
To my amazing hubby, thank you for planning such an amazing birthday week. I love you more then you will ever know!

Baby Hayden

Meet Hayden, 10 days old and so tiny. He was born a couple weeks early and weighed a little over 6 pounds. He was happy when mom and dad was holding him but did not want to let go and take pictures by himself. He's already a little snuggler. Congratulations Michael and Stephanie, he is adorable!

Here is a sneak peak, more to come later.

Oregon Coast

Jeff, Hillary and 4 month old baby Finn were kind enough to invite us to spend the weekend with them at their condo in Lincoln City. We had a great time walking on the beach, shopping, and just enjoying the incredible views. The weather wasn't as cooperative as we hoped but fun was still had by all. Vacation is definitely different with little ones; you have to schedule the day around nap time, dinner is earlier as to avoid the potential bedtime melt down, and the evening is much tamer, glass of wine and a movie so you don't wake the sleeping babies. I guess that means we are getting old...

Thank you Jeff and Hillary, we had a great time!!

These little squirrels were every where, people feed them carmel corn from the local candy shop and they were not shy at all. They kept getting a little too close for my comfort, I kept imagining them jumping up and attacking my face (I am not a fan of squirrels). But they were cute from a distance.

Devils Punch bowl... aka Devils Butt Hole

So cute...

Baby seal, they come up on the beach while their mom goes fishing. We saw several during the weekend, I love the spots!
